Benton Policy Concerning E-readers
E-readers devices (i.e, Kindles, Nooks, etc., NOT apps on cell phones) may be brought to language arts class for independent reading only. They may only be used for reading (no games, no internet). When not used for language arts class, the e-reader should be kept in the student's locker. The school and staff will not be held responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property. As such, devices are brought at the owner's own risk.
To assist parents and guardians concerning Benton's guidelines regarding Attendance and Early Release situations, please click HERE. As a convenience, the attendance and early release forms are attached to the guidelines.
Students can access their classroom information to include homework and due dates by logging in the Benton's Fusion page. Students can also access their grades by logging into Parent Portal. Click HERE for Student Instructions for logging into both these valuable online tools.
The Cougar Bank will be open for business in the "Mixing Bowl" Tuesday mornings from 7:50am - 8:10am beginning September 27th. Students can open a new account or make deposits into an existing account. Managed by Cardinal Bank employees and Benton's Cougar Bank Club students, the Cougar Bank provides a great opportunity for all Benton students to save money and earn interest.
Effective with the 2011-2012 school year, all student athletes and their parents or guardians will be required to attend a concussion education session provided by their respective middle and high schools. Attendance at one of these sessions is required before a student will be allowed to try out for any sport. Participation in the concussion education session is mandated by state law (Virginia Code 22.1-271.5). Click HERE for all the information and dates for the education session.
